I was chatting with Mike founder of the Darlo Darlings about my love of Bottomless Brunch and I mentioned how I thought we should do one together. I had heard that Bloody Marys in Darlinghurst was offering a bottomless option but I couldn’t find anything on their website. I shot an email off to them and it was confirmed! Yes they did indeed do bottomless brunch. As this is a firm favorite of Mikes I suggested we meet up there. A date and time was set and a booking was made for two as Andrew was out of the country.
Bloody Marys Sydney – you’ve got to love good signage. and indeed it was warm and cosy inside. Fabulous heating and lap blankets if required.
Of course if Mike was going to break his bottomless virginity he couldn’t do it alone. He put it out to the group and it quickly become a Darlo Darlings bottomless brunch. Truly I think he just loves that big round table in the Bloody Marys courtyard so much he needed to sit there and hell why not? The more the merrier! Of course the only proviso was that if I looked like I was forgetting to take photos, someone would remind me.

The group started out with with Mike, Marion with Widgie her gorgeous toy poodle, Dee and myself. We were later joined by Naveen, her new air BnB guest Louise from France, Johanna, Joseph and finally Kelly a latecomer to the drop in brunch. Not everyone decided to go for the bottomless option but the Bloody Mary station was brilliant. As you know I’m not much of a fan of the Bloody Mary (tomato phobic) but I couldn’t resist building my own with an assortment of pickles, vegetables, bacon and salt. There were even 3 different types of juice. Clamato, V8 and the home made – which is what I went for.
Unfortunately in Mikes haste to rim his own glass there was a slight accident. Tabasco, not really an important ingredient is it? Mike & his pickle

The bottomless offering is generally bloody marys or mimosas but our hosts graciously allowed us to mix it up and even included the new Darlo Darlings cocktail. The food is off menu and while I find it extremely difficult to say no to corn fritters and I’m not generally one to eat sweets for brunch I found myself torn between the chicken and waffles and the Canadian pancake breakfast. Luckily my friend Dee was also torn so we decided to get one of each and split it half way through by changing plates. It’s good to have friends like these.

Mimosas and novelty glasses – what more could you want? DIY mimosas with this delicious prosecco

and a 10o’s and 1000’s rimmed glass.
Of course a few drinks in and Joseph arrives. He’s already been to the gym and breakfast but he too is ready to imbibe in a few bloody marys. Then it started to get loose. The DJ was spinning some 80s and 90’s tunes and of course DJ Donna just had to have a go on the decks. #word
Super excited Joseph actually shook his own. Mike sporting the “how to” book of Bloody Marys

I’m pretty sure we went over our 2 over limit so we ordered a bit more food. Some sweet potato fries and delicious pumpkin pie (which I also shared with Dee.) Of course it was so loose by then we forgot to photograph it, but I think you get the idea of the experience by what is shown above. Thanks so much for looking after us Cinta and Jeremy and big love to Mike for bringing all the darlings together. It was Bloody (Mary) fabulous!

Thank you for reading Robbie. Super fun to use the DIY station which has since become a permanent weekend fixture at Bloody Marys 🙂 Lets have a Darlo Darling next time you’re in town! 💋

Hello! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing many months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
